The Solano/Art’s Auto Racing Team is rolling for 2005, winning the Berkeley Hills Road Race and the Safeway Cup at the Wente weekend in the E3 category and taking 2nd at the Ronde van Brisbane. Add in top-ten finshes in the Pro/1/2 categories of the Mt. Hamilton Road Race and Golden State Ranco Cordova Crit, as well as the Masters 1/2/3 races at Stockton and Golden State, and the future is looking bright for the team as it prepares to launch an assault on the national championships in Park City July 2.

The team ended the 2004 season on a fantastic note. Both the Category 3 Elite and Category 4/5 Master’s 35+ teams finished the season as the Northern California/Nevada Cycling Association’s (www.ncnca.org) Best All-Around Teams in their respective categories. This is the second year in a row that Solano's Category 3 Elite squad has won the NCNCA BAT competition in one of the most competitive districts in the country.

Ending the 2004 season with a number of top-ten finishes, including a win at the Mt Tam Hill Climb, 4th at the SF Presidio Crit, and a 2nd, 3rd & 10th at the Documentum/Kenda Crit in Pleasanton, the Cat 3 Elite team sealed the deal in the BAT competition. In addition to winning the team competition, the Cat 3 Elite squad also achieved its season-long goal to upgrade a number of riders to race in the Pro/1/2 category.

A nice confidence boost came at the final race of the 2004 season. After upgrading to Category 2, Solano riders finished their first Pro/1/2 race of the season with a 9th and a 14th-place finish, securing the first top-10 finish of the team's new Category 2 adventure.

Thanks to the support that the Solano/Art’s Auto Racing Team receives from its sponsors and fans we were able to achieve all of our 2004 goals and are well on our way to reaching 2005's.
