Touring/Sport Shoes:
Riddle us this What does one do when the stiffness of a cycling shoe sounds nice, and there's an interest in perhaps even running clipless pedals, but walking around to see the sights is also important? Step right into one of the more casual cycling shoes from Shimano or Specialized. Easy enough to stroll in, but stiff enough to win the sprint for iced coffees. Strolling is way more fun when you're drinking a free iced coffee. |

Rudy Project Eyewear:
Show us someone who doesn't want to look like Eric Dekker or Jan Ulrich and we'll show you someone who must be pretty damn good looking. For the rest of us, Rudy Projects can certainly help us look more like the riders we pathetically idolize. What's more, Rudy Projects fit better than any other glasses we've ever tried and the lenses are so darn clear they'll actually help you find just the right gap in the bunch sprint. Just ask Zabel.

Specialized S-1 Helmet:
Sure, one could suggest that the simple fact Solano Ave. Cyclery's Racing Team uses the S-1 is a sound enough sales pitch for this stylish helmet. Who cares whether we're fast or not our blue & black team kits rock and we needed a helmet that looked equally good. There aren't too many helmets that are as easy on the eyes as the S-1, but Bell and Giro have some slick offerings as well and we carry them too.

Roadie Shoes:
Need a good, stiff, race-worthy road shoe but still want to have enough cash left over to buy a heavy gold chain to ride in? Sounds reasonable to us. Pick up a pair of the Comp Road shoes, then laugh all the way to the jewelry store. |

Baggy Shorts:
The baggy short is actually more than just a slacker fashion statement. Baggies are great for going on a trail ride and then heading into town and not getting your ass kicked by some punk kids who don't like the way you look in lycra. Baggies have pockets, too, and we all know what pockets are good for carrying pepper spray. Put on some baggies, go for a ride, then walk right up to those punks who've been beating you up and you'll probably find that they're actually pretty nice kids; just a little confused. And if it turns out they're not all that nice you've still got the pepper spray in your pocket.

The Shop Jersey:
Worn by the likes of Jacques-Maynes, Snodsmith, Walle, Paoletti, Sadewhite, Lopez, Seguin, Tondu, Valterza, Malone and Wyatt, to name just a few, the Solano Team Jersey has graced the torso of many household names. With the availability of this classic jersey, you too can now share in Solano Ave. Cyclery's rich race-team history. Put on a shop jersey and pretend you're some poor sap, toiling in the dead-end bicycle industry, struggling on the weekends in the Cat 4 races. Live the dream. |

Women's Shorts:
A high-end cycling short with side panels of blue and white flowers? Did someone say these shorts look good with our team jersey? You just may see a couple of our female racers sporting these stylish Castelli shorts at the races. Hell, you may see José sporting them at the races but not if we can help it. We carry a selection of women's shorts, in both snug & loose fit. |
