Sure, Jake and Elwood were the Blues brothers simply by birthright. But in order to be The Blues Brothers they needed their band. Jake and Elwood knew the deal. They knew that the proof is in the pudding, and the pudding says you're only as good as the folks who've got your back. Ah, the wisdom of pudding - and you thought it was no more than a delightfully delicious snack.

Pull up a chair and grab a bowl of pudding. Here's a little feel-good story:

Many years ago, Marty and Jose worked for Charlie at Solano Avenue Cyclery. Charlie is a good guy, and he was nice to Marty and Jose. Eventually, however, when Charlie went to prison (just kidding), Marty and Jose's fancies lured them away to graze in other pastures and sample the other jobs life had to offer. Of course, they were fools.

Even though Jose thrived, with Rock Star status, on the competitive Break Dancing circuit and Marty was on the brink of a huge salary and a big fancy desk at a SoCal publishing company, both of the lads knew where they had left their hearts and they longed for the days at the shop, surrounded by the fantastical joys of bike stuff.

And then, one day while Charlie was having lunch at a popular Berkeley diner Marty and Jose walked in, sat with their backs turned, but within earshot of Charlie, and uttered the following famous words to the waitress. Marty: "I'll have four fried chicken, and a Coke." Jose: "Just dry, white toast, ma'am." Charlie recognized those words as belonging to his crew, and the Band was back together. Lucrative Break Dancing and Editorial contracts were bought out and Jose and Marty returned to the shop. Once again, every cyclist in the sleepy, quaint towns of Albany and Berkeley can rest assured that all is right in the wonderful little world of bikes. Jake and Elwood would've liked this delightfully delicious pudding. It's like a reunion tour, only the tickets are free. Our band is again together, and we've got your back.
