 Riddle Me This

In case you didn't know, Jose is pretty much a Rockstar. Here he's caught by our eagle-eyed photographer during a rock session with his band members, The Commuter, XTC, The Blur, and Co-Motion.

Mystery Machine:
We aren't really sure what the heck this thing is. But since it has a partially chromed fork and rear end, it has to be pretty cool. Jose's high-tech commute machine features the most modern of cycling amenities, such as down tube shifters, plastic brake levers and grips, a reflector bracket sans reflector, and a $15.00 water bottle cage that's held on by zip-ties.

Co-Motion:
If you look closely at the tail end of the tope tube, you'll see conformation that Jose is in fact a Rockstar... his name was factory painted onto the bike! The Solano Avenue Cyclery Road Team is sponsored by Co-Motion, and Jose's is a prime example of sweetness. A $230.00 carbon saddle, carbon Easton post, carbon cranks, a Reynolds fork, Dura Ace, King, and some ridiculous wheelset that's so fast that you actually travel back in time once you hit 23mph. That by the way, is Jose's secret for retaining such amazing hair and a young shapely look. He gets younger every time he rides the Co-Motion.

Santa Cruz Blur:
Not to be outdone by Peter, Jose's Blur is done up nice and pricey. Full XTR, Mavic Crossmax wheels, a Fox Talas RLC fork, Progressive Racing 5th Element shock, Thomson stem and seatpost, King headset, WTB titanium railed saddle, Avid mechanical disc brakes, and about 5 pounds worth of stickers. Jose Bonus Info: If you ever have some food in the fridge and Jose shows up, kiss it goodbye because he will mercilessly devour any food or drink item that isn't in your hands.

Giant XTC Single Speed:
Simplicity is key with single-speeds. An oversized Titec stem and Deda bars make for a nice stiff front end, just the way Jose likes it. But the Fox F80 RLT fork smooth out the rough while keeping the weight of the bike down. He couldn't resist another set of Crossmax wheels, so the XTC was fortunate enough to be gifted with a set, and since he was trying to keep the weight down Jose opted for a set of XTR v-brakes with Avid levers. In keeping with the grey-and-black theme the bike got some Hutchinson tires and a Sella saddle. Lastly we were finally able to convince Jose that a Crupi chain tensioner would be a good call to keep his buffed out legs from torquing the wheel forward in the horizontal dropouts. More Jose Bonus Info: He designed our Peace Monkey water bottle and Tattoo Dave is really pushing for Jose to get a Peace Monkey tattoo.
